A long time ago, a city by the name of Mecca formed near the old Ka'bah. A long time ago, the son grew up with the Arabs and married one of them. Now, we know this as the story of Ibrahim (as), his wife Hajar (as) and their son Ismaeel (as).

Working mum Column: Keeping it Halal in the Workplace

As a working Muslimah, one of the things that I find very challenging is keeping it halal in the workplace. What do I mean by this? I mean adhering to the principles of my faith in a non-Islamic environment, avoiding those things that are forbidden for Muslims and ensuring I fulfil those things that have been obligated on me as a Muslim woman.
