Aisha’tu S. Mohammed (PR)

My first name is pronounced without the ‘tu at the end. I am a university graduate at 28 with a degree in International relations. I am child number 4 of 12 and of Nigerian origin. I am a wife to Mustapha and mother to three children, Safiyyah who is nearly 4 and Ibrahim-Hanif who has just turned 2 and my baby daughter Ameena who is only 6 months old, alhamdulillah.

Professionally I am a housewife; socially I am a daughter, sister, aunt and friend. I have many dreams and aspirations including being an active participant in bringing about world peace, opening an orphanage in my home land Nigeria for disadvantaged children and raising my children as sincere and real Muslims.

In my spare time I like to write poetry and all my thoughts and I love to read particularly books that inspire and guide me to being a more useful and beneficial individual. I dream of one day being able to bake and master the art of calligraphy!

I blog at http://aishaswall.wordpress.com/

Your value is what’s contained within. Your beauty glows from right therein, that mini skirt doesn’t serve you with anything. Oh why young lady?

Out of love you were born, a love for Allah that goes above and beyond all graces. Out of love you were born, to be raised and be of those who submitted. Out of love you were born, to comprehend and behold His awesome majesty. Out of love you were born, to be servants and uphold you’re allegiance to the one, true and only deity.

Ramadan Intentions

Ramadan Intentions

Wed, Jun 22, 2011

How well do we know about the blessed month of Ramadan? As it is fast approaching, it is time to start thinking and preparing, to start rectifying wrong thoughts and actions. It is also time to start taking the small steps in eradicating bad and sinful habits, so that by the time this amazing month falls upon us, our souls shall be ready to accept it and we can truly feed it what it is constantly yearning for.

More than just a housewife

More than just a housewife

Wed, Jun 22, 2011

I have realised about myself that the more I am at home, the more I am thinking about starting a business, not only for my sake but for the children, as well as my husband. On that note I was sent a message regarding a workshop all about becoming an entrepreneur. This workshop was held through an organisation called Lotus life and Alhamdulillah I have to say I benefited greatly.

Stay-at-home mum column : Something/s I am learning...

Mon, Jul 25, 2011

If I put myself in a certain category or type of person, I am excluding myself from all those that have attained more and gained themselves lofty positions with our Almighty creator. I am, therefore able to reach the ranks of the favoured believers; otherwise I have to ask myself, what is the point?

Just a thought

Just a thought

Sometimes we forget just how much our children are just that, children. Innocent little beings that have been placed in our care, as a trust from Allah. It is easy to get angry at them, to get frustrated and even shout at them, maybe even raise a hand, for doing things that as children it is only natural for them to do. Think about it, how many times have you shouted at your son or daughter over something so trivial and then come to regret it.

Day dreams and reality

Day dreams and reality

Wed, Oct 05, 2011

Marriage and children were always a dream of mine. I used to day dream about the beautiful events that would unfold in my life with my amazing family, perfect in every way, everything would always be good, no sad or unhappy times.

Stormy weather

Stormy weather

Wed, Oct 05, 2011

They say it’s beautiful, that I cannot deny. On a bad day though, you could imagine nothing worse, nothing uglier. As soon as that storm passes though, it’s amazing how everything is all better. Just like the storm, when the sun comes out, it’s as if it never even happened. Letting go, forgiving, moving on, that’s the key, as you will have very stormy, turbulent weather at times. If you let it pass, it will pass, it fades away and leaves no effects, no aftershocks that is if you have truly let it go.

Stay at home mum column: The bubble that burst!

Fri, Oct 07, 2011

Being a mother is 24/7, 365, it’s more than full time, it’s a lifetime! A lifetime of learning, of growing, of changing, of being selfless! Even when you’re sick, it doesn’t stop. SubhanAllah, you’d think I would have known that by now! Especially after six years of marriage and three beautiful children!

The future.......

The future.......

I seldom get asked the question, are you working yet? The answer always is, no, not yet, but inshaAllah soon, maybe when all the kids are at school full time? Allah knows best. At times I feel obliged to answer, with that particular answer.

Poet Tree

Poet Tree

Fri, Apr 06, 2012

Whatever you write of thoughts and feelings is poetry, only you know how you want the words spoken. If at all you wish them to be spoken. The poet tree is always waiting, never ageing, still, brand new. With the leaves I started my pages.

When was the last time you looked up at the sky and marvelled at the stars or stopped to really take in the magnificence of the moon?

Talking, Marriage

Talking, Marriage

Fri, Apr 06, 2012

We all talk of our marriages constantly, our children, husbands and family at large. Through the years even before my own marriage I have come across women who tended to influence my view of the whole scary (oops!) sacred union.

What every mother should include in her hospital bag...

Packing the hospital bag is always an exciting moment for any expectant mum. Sometimes we go as far as making sure that everything is ready and by the door even months before the expected date of delivery!
