Bint Ahmed
I am a South African and am an educator (currently a stay at home mother). My aim is to serve the deen of Allah (SWT) by imparting the knowledge I have to others and in the process to learn, practise, better myself and ultimately strengthen my imaan and gain closeness to Allah (SWT).
Mother, mother
Wed, Jun 22, 2011
It is a tribute to each and every mother – Whose nature it is to nurture, whose language is love and whose words are wisdom. This is a dedication to our mothers - Who have rocked us to sleep, dressed us, fed us, and spent many hours behind us and with us. Whose mothering didn’t cease when we married and had children, instead it grew and extended open-heartedly to our children.

Losing a child
Wed, Jul 27, 2011
It’s never easy losing a loved one. It just seems to come so suddenly, even if you know that loved one’s time is limited. Losing a child especially isn’t an easy trial. It doesn’t matter whether the child was grown up, was in their infancy or still in their mother’s womb. It’s a time of overwhelming emotion. At this trying time, it isn’t uncommon to feel inadequate, to blame yourself or to feel depressed. What most women want at this time is to feel loved and supported, and at times just for someone to listen to them.

A Cinderella Journey
Thu, Sep 29, 2011
Each day as I covered myself, I strove to give up an action that didn’t befit the honour of wearing the hijaab like associating with (haraam-forbidden) males. I have by no means perfected myself. Each day comes with the hope and effort of bettering oneself, of facing each new challenge with a more mature approach (the challenges continue no matter for how long you are veiled. Remember Shaytaan doesn’t rest!), and by the Grace of Allah reaching the highest degree of hijaab and Insha Allah, Jannah as well. It is my dua that every sister undertakes this ‘Cinderella’ journey – from being the doormats and ornaments of others to being the Queens and Princesses of Islam.

Since Rabi – ul – Awwal is the month in which our Beloved Nabi (s.A.W.) was born, and also the month in which he (S.A.W.) left this world, this book, Seerat-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) written by MI. Yaqub Patel is the ideal book to get you started and interested in the life of Nabi (S.A.W.). A set of three volumes (thus far) of approximately 150 pages each, it deals with the biography of Nabi (S.A.W.). Seerat – un –Nabi (S.A.W.) is written in simple yet captivating English which will definitely capture the hearts and minds of young and old alike.

A child’s reminder
Thu, Apr 05, 2012
‘Aunty, your hair is showing?’, ‘Where’s your hijab?’, ‘Ummi that lady is not wearing long trousers’. These are some of the phrases my three-year old repeatedly says. I was, as most mothers would be, tempted to stop my child from making what many of us call ‘embarrassing’ remarks and questions.
