Dr Laila Caunhye

I'm a GP trainee, currently working in A&E in a busy London teaching hospital. I enjoy working with children, and so I often find myself in Paediatric A&E, where I try to make it fun and exciting.

In the spare time I have, I love reading, especially all things Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell. I also try to improve my deen by attending intensive Islamic courses. I enjoy socialising with my friends, who are a mixture of medics and non-medics, married and single, with and without children.

I live at home with my parents, who help to keep my feet on the ground, by imparting their wise wisdom on a daily basis.

How to prepare for an A&E visit

A&E is the last place on a parent’s list for places to visit, especially at nights and you have already been exhausted coping with a sick child at home. But when the worse comes to worst and you decide that A&E should be the place to seek medical attention, preparing for the visit is the last thing on your mind.
