Emma Waller
I was brought up in a Christian family, the eldest of three siblings. I studied Law at University and have worked as a legal advisor for both profit and charitable organizations. I reverted to Islam five years ago.
In January 2007 I gave birth for the first time. My life changed forever. Initially overwhelmed by the huge responsibility that lay in my arms, I was determined to bring up my son to the best of my ability. To teach, encourage and nurture him in the way that Allah (SWT) commands. I started reading and researching and haven’t stopped, Insha’Allah I never will.
I hope to share with you what I have learned, experiences that I have had and things that I would like to try. I advocate a healthy, organic and simple way of life wherever possible. Cooking from scratch, growing my own food and crafting are all things that I do and are things that I hope to share with you too. I currently live in East London with my husband and three young children.
The gift of charity
Wed, Jun 22, 2011
In these difficult economic times it is very easy to forget the importance of giving in charity yet; it is a direct instruction from our creator (SWT) “and spend in charity of that which we have provided you” – (Qur’an Surah 63:10) In addition there is hadith which clearly states that sadaqah is due on every muslim, every single day.
