Safura Houghton
I studied Islamic theology at a girls’ Islamic boarding school for four years, after which I went on to do a Diploma in Nursery Nursing. I worked at Islamia Primary School in London for six rewarding years, Alhamdulillah, after which I took a break to go on maternity leave.
My husband and I have lived in Cairo, Egypt for six months where we studied Arabic.
I am a mum to three beautiful girls and live in Milton Keynes. I currently work for Milton Keynes Council and the Early Years Service, working closely with schools and children's centres to support ethnic minority families with children under five.
I am also an organiser and presenter for Milton Keynes' first Islamic radio station, Ramadan FM, and have been involved with several other community projects.

Should we allow our children to go to university? Should we encourage them to travel? Should we support them in pursuing a career in another town or even abroad?
