I seldom get asked the question, are you working yet? The answer always is, no, not yet, but inshaAllah soon, maybe when all the kids are at school full time? Allah knows best. At times I feel obliged to answer, with that particular answer.

Working mum Column: Keeping it Halal in the Workplace

As a working Muslimah, one of the things that I find very challenging is keeping it halal in the workplace. What do I mean by this? I mean adhering to the principles of my faith in a non-Islamic environment, avoiding those things that are forbidden for Muslims and ensuring I fulfil those things that have been obligated on me as a Muslim woman.
