Being a teenager, or a young adult, can be a challenging and confusing time in somebody’s life. We may think we remember our adolescence well however, it can be easy to forget the challenges young people face. On top of that, the growth of technology and an ever-changing environment means that a lot of these things are likely to be unfamiliar to us.

Maybe it wasn’t the unattended cup of milk that just soaked into your rug . . . but it was teasing little brother for the umpteenth time . . . or running into the house with muddy shoes. Whatever the mishap may be, releasing your steam with hot spewing words can be a relief—or so it may seem initially.

What we find in Islam is truly a complete way of life. It covers everything, from religious rituals to spiritual advancement and from to marrying to child-raising. However we often tend to neglect these guidelines by referring to the changing of the times, the excess amount of fitna that our children are constantly surrounded by and some go to the extent of claiming these guidelines are old fashioned. We rather turn to modern day child-raising advisors, books and theories, than to the very thing that should define us as people, i.e. the deen (faith).
